The freeze-dried versions are identical (with the exception of moisture content) to Steve's frozen diets and can be served as a complete and balanced meal.  They're also much easier to transport and mail-order.  Click here for a list of online and mail-order retailers.  All packages have an unopened shelf-life of over a year.  After opening, if the product is placed in a sealed container in a refrigerator it will last for up to two weeks, and up to a month if kept in a freezer.  

We produce them in the same way our frozen products are prepared, and then send it to Oregon Freeze Dry in Albany, OR. There, the food spends several days in a vacuum chamber where the pressure is so low that ice sublimes directly to water vapor. When the process is finished, 95% of the moisture in the product has been removed, without heat-treating of any kind.

The food is packaged using an all-new foil pouch designed to keep oxygen and other oxidizing spoilants out. We add a small Ageless desiccant pack to each pouch, which soaks up any residual oxygen in the bag.
