The Bag

Steve’s is proud to announce our transition to the compostable bag.  We are the first to use the NVIRO material that is 100% environmentally friendly made from sustainable plant materials such as soy.  Everything from the sealant to this zipper is sustainable.  These bags went through many test to ensure they would not fall apart.

 

Nuggets

Steve’s Real Food Nuggets are a very convenient feeding option.  Packaged in a resealable heavy duty bag, you are able to simply pour the nuggets into your pets bowl, let defrost (defrosting optional) and serve.  Each nugget is about 3/4 inch squared (the size of a tatter-tot) and approximately 0.2 oz.  See our Feeding Chart to find out how much Steve’s to feed your dog.

Patties

Just like pre-formed frozen hamburgers you get at the store, our patties are separated by a layer of paper making pulling them east to separate while frozen.  Each patty is 8oz making measuring the amount you are feeding very accurate if you are going to feed to the exact pound or half pound.  See our Feeding Chart for more information about the amount to feed your dog each day.

Steve’s Real Food does not sell formulas with lamb, pork or venison because they are at a higher risk for toxolplasmosis.  Toxolplasmosis is a toxicity that can exist in raw meats and can be passed on to animals and cats especially.  This toxicity can be of concern for pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems.Steve’s Does not Use Exotic Meats

Steve’s freeze-dried raw pet food is  identical (with the exception of moisture content) to Steve’s frozen diets and can be served as a complete and balanced meal, however are more commonly feed as training treat.  Since dogs love the taste of the treat and it is a complete and balanced diet, you don’t have to feel bad feeding too many while training your pet.

Is Freeze Dry still Raw? Yes! The freeze drying process does not use any heat. The food spends several days in a vacuum chamber where the pressure is so low that ice sublimes directly to water vapor. When the process is finished, 97% of the moisture in the product has been removed. Without water the food can sit at room The food is packaged using an all-new foil pouch designed to keep oxygen and other oxidizing spoilants out. We add a small oxygen absorbers (those small squares you should not eat) to each pouch, which soaks up any residual oxygen in the bag. Steve’s Real Freeze-Dried foods are perfect for traveling and camping with your pets.  Plus, our cat food is priced competitively with premium canned cat food on a serving-per-serving basis
