The History of Steve’s Real Food
A visionary named Steve Brown embarked on a remarkable journey that would forever change how we nourish our beloved pets. Armed with a passion for research and nutrition, Steve set out to address a glaring gap in the pet food industry – the absence of real, wholesome food for our furry companions.
Steve's pioneering spirit led him to formulate the nation's first commercially available raw pet food diet, marking the inception of the raw pet food movement in the United States. Fueling his belief with scientific expertise, he meticulously crafted a nutritionally balanced raw food diet that aligned with the natural dietary needs of dogs.
Initially, Steve Brown began sharing his revolutionary creation with close friends who were astounded by the transformative impact on their dogs' health. As the word spread and more pet owners witnessed the undeniable benefits of Steve's Real Food.
Gary Bursell and other investors recognized this groundbreaking brand's potential and extended the support needed to establish a national distribution network.
As the demand for raw pet food grew, so did the competition. Steve’s Real Food brought Nicole Lindsley into the fold. Nicole had a new vision and creative energy, determined to make Steve's Real Food even more appealing to pet owners. Under her inspired leadership, sales began to climb, and more and more people embraced Steve's Real Food as the cornerstone of their pets' diets.
In a significant turning point in the fall of 2014, Nicole took a bold step forward and acquired the company from the partners, becoming the sole owner. Steve Brown returned to his passion for research and nutrition. With this move, Steve's Real Food proudly emerged as one of the only 💪woman-led, privately-owned pet food companies in the nation.
