Rehydrates in Less Than 10 Minutes!
We designed our freeze dried food to be soft and easy to break apart. This also makes it rehydrate in a very short amount of time. In the past, we were not proponents of freeze dry food due to the fact that pet parents typically do not take the time to rehydrate the food properly. Without your pet getting at least 60% moisture from their food, the digestive process becomes taxing on the body. With our line of freeze dried foods, we make rehydrating simple and fast.
Our freeze-dried diets are identical (with the exception of moisture content) to Steve’s raw frozen formulas and can be served as a complete and balanced meal. They are also much easier to ship and travel with. The convenient nugget size allows you to use these as either a balanced meal or as a treat. The packages have an unopened shelf life of over a year. After opening, if the product is in a sealed container and kept in the refrigerator it will last for up to two weeks, and up to a month if kept in a freezer. We produce the food in the same way as our frozen products are prepared with the addition of freeze dry the product before packaging. The food spends several days in a vacuum chamber where the pressure is so low that ice sublimes directly to water vapor. When the process is finished, 97% of the moisture in the product is gone, without heat-treating of any kind.
The Perfect Training Treat
The first step to training a dog is to find a great training treat. You will be going through a lot of treats so you need one that is healthy and easy to break up into small pieces. Our freeze dried food meets both of these criteria, in addition to being highly desirable for even the pickiest, non-food motivated pets.
Affordable Without Compromise
At Steve’s we are committed to making raw feeding as easy and affordable as possible. We stick to this promise with our freeze dried food keeping the retail cost at $1.67 per ounce. As with all our products, this is not a sacrifice in quality of food, but rather a strategic business model that focuses on volume over margins.
