A little more about the ingredients:

Benefits of Chia

Chia is known to have been a staple in ancient Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Aztecs and the Mayans.  Chia is a superfood, full of protein, Omega 3 healthy fats, and fiber, as well as being high in manganese, calcium, and phosphorous.  This mint family seed can be digested whole due to its swelling/gelling action initiated when exposed to liquid, allowing chia to absorb up to 12 times its weight in water. The gelled version helps cleanse the colon by absorbing toxins.  It is also well known for its benefits to diabetics because of its assistance in stabilizing blood sugar and improving blood pressure.

Coconut Flour - the "magic fruit."

Once thought of as a high-fat food, coconut has improved its reputation through the discovery of its endless benefits for the body, both internal and external.  It is antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-parasitic.  Coconut improves the body's ability to absorb calcium and magnesium,  and has hundreds of different health-improving uses.

Harlow Hills Farms: The story of our goats

tyler and goatHere at Steve's we are dedicated to sourcing our produce and meat from the most environmentally conscious farms in the country.  Our goats milk is no different, and the story of Harlow Hills Farms demonstrates that.  Kristina and Greg Harlow are a living testament that the American dream can is achievable even while maintaining sustainable, humane, and globally responsible standards. Their story includes a little chance, a little luck, and a lot of hard work.

Like so many Americans, Kristina and her husband Greg dreamed of owning land & a family business. They wanted a safe place to raise their children and teach the value of a strong work ethic. In 2003, they purchased  80 acres in Oregon & started making that dream a reality. They began by planting a vineyard, mowing blackberries, & cleaning up the 50x100 ft barn that collapsed just days after they purchased the property. They mowed more blackberries, cleaned up more land, put up fencing to keep the dogs in, and mowed more blackberries. Then they mowed more blackberries. They were everywhere!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThen they learned that goats eat blackberries! The decision seemed obvious, and that day they decided they needed some goats. The farm came equipped with an old dairy building from the 50s, and stepping in its door was like stepping back in history, with all the necessary equipment still there.  It looked like the original owners, the Fruins, had simply closed the doors and walked away. So with an incredible amount of time and money, they restored, remodeled, and added onto this old building to make it a Grade-A dairy again - this time for goats instead of cows.
