What is your role at Steve’s?

My primary function is to make sure this ship does not sink; however, the jobs I enjoy the most are the ones that require

my creative skills that allow me to create cutting edge products. There is not much that is more rewarding than being able to take an idea and transform that into something that a customer wants. When I see posts on Facebook with rave reviews about products I created, I am filled with deep satisfaction.

When did you start working for Steve’s?

I suppose you could say that I started working for Steve’s during family dinners on Sunday nights where we would bounce ideas back and forth about new proteins and talk about the different shows my parents were going to. However, I did not get an actual paycheck until 2010 when I moved corporate headquarters from Eugene, OR to the living room of my apartment in Salt Lake City. I am grateful to say it did not take long before we could get office space.

Do you have any pets? How many and what breeds?

All my furry family members are rescues so there is no definite breed, but I know Kobe has neurotic Border Collie in him and Tootsie is my loveable retriever/chow. Simon the short-hair cat is my hunter and keeps the mice away from my chicken coop while Cali, the princess, spends the better part of the day by the heater vent warming herself. As for the chickens, they are Road Island Reds that provide 3 delicious eggs a day.

What is your favorite part about working with animals or at Steve’s?

There is not one singularly great part about what I do. My favorite day of the week is Monday. I drive into the office excited about all the things that I will be doing that day. I feel so blessed to have a passion that I get to work on all day every day and make real change for pets and the people that care about them so much.”

What is your role at Steve’s?

My Role at Steve’s involves a few jobs all rolled up into one. I manage operations and logistics, vendor management,

all accounting, AP/AR, I assist in the areas of product research and development, and lead the veterinary task force and community outreach programs. Whew!”

When did you start working for Steve’s?

I began working for Steve’s part-time in November 2014, then proceeded to Full-time in September 2015.

Do you have any pets? How many and what breeds?

I currently have 2 dogs, Dora and Cruz. Dora the “aDorable” is my 3 yr. old Mastiff who enjoys making us smile every day with her silly antics along with her “morning singing” routine. Dora is one win away from obtaining her AKC Grand Championship. Cruz, my 3 yr. old Rottweiler enjoys nose work, carting, and obedience and a good snuggle on the bed with mom. He has earned his AKC Championship. Both of my dogs enjoy spending their summers swimming, boating, and dock diving at the lake. They have been great companions on our adventures to the red sands of Moab as well as keeping us company hiking throughout our many great trails in life.”

What is your educational background?

I have been a veterinary technician/nurse since 1993, obtaining my license from Washington State in 1997 in Animal Health Technology. I started my Veterinarian Technician career in general practice and moved into specializing in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 1997, and expanding into Practice/Operations Management in 1999. After 17 years of exploring that avenue, I decided to follow a different path into animal nutrition. This is where I found Steve’s.”

What is your favorite part about working with animals or at Steve’s?

My favorite part of working with animals is being able to provide extensive care through knowledge along with being their advocate. I enjoy helping others through the education I’ve received in finding ways of promoting health and longevity. This is something I get extreme gratification from. Steve’s gives me the opportunity to just be myself and supports my vision for healthier pets."

Rawsome Retailer Specialist

What is your role at Steve’s?

My role is one of the best because I have the opportunity to work with the talented retailers that embrace Steve’s Real Food. I work on our authorized retailer program, promotions, retailer events, ISOs, and freezer fills. Any assistance a retail store needs I am here for you!

When did you start working for Steve’s?

I started working for Steve’s Real Food in April of 2019, but I feel like I have been working here for many years because it is a family atmosphere at Steve’s. They welcomed we with open arms, but I only think they hired me because the staff fell in love with my furbaby Bella.

Do you have any pets? How many and what breeds?

I have one furbaby Bella. What breed is a very good question. Because she was a rescue from Mile High Lab Mission, my wife and I are not quite sure what breed she is. We have been told she may be goldendoodle/sheepdog, but more often than not we are told that she looks like a muppet.

What is your educational background?

I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Economics and Business. After college I held jobs as a financial specialist, realtor, a retail store business owner, and even tried my hand at producing a pet show.

What is your favorite part about working at Steve’s?

I feel lucky to work in the pet industry assisting retail stores with a great product I truly believe in. The best part about working for Steve's Real Food is hearing the stories about how Steve’s Real Food has made a difference in pets' lives like Floki who lived in a puppy mill for 10 years and could barely walk. The owner attributes Floki’s healthy coat, new-found energy, and happy dances to Steve’s Real Food. To work for a company with positive core values like mine and working in an industry I am passionate about makes working for Steve’s Real Food a purrrrfect fit!

What is your role at Steve’s?

For the most part I manage our social media accounts, which includes taking adorable pictures of dogs! I also work with our retail-

ers to make sure they know what fun and exciting things we have going on at Steve’s like our online training program and different events we are attending.

When did you start working for Steve’s?

I started working at Steve's in November 2016. Prior to Steve's I worked at a local pet shop in Salt Lake City where I fell in love with helping pets gain a healthier lifestyle.

Do you have any pets? How many and what breeds?

Yes, I have 5 pets (go ahead call me crazy). Theo is my Boxer who is a big love once you start petting him, he won't let you stop. Harley is my Papillon who used to be VERY scared of everything until CannaGurt now he warms up to new people much faster and isn't scared of the world. Duckie is my Cairn Terrier she is my little shadow, wherever I am she is not far. Greer is my Scottish Deerhound is an energetic puppy that doesn't realize how big she really is!

Beyond dogs, I also have a love for Morty my little bunny who thinks he is one of the dogs. He enjoys hopping through the garden and munching on some fresh hay.

What is your educational background?

I have started my secondary education in animal science. I have a Veterinarian Technician Certificate through Jordan Applied Technology Center and an Associate of Science degree. I am currently working on my undergraduate in Zoology.

What is your favorite part about working with animals or at Steve’s?

The best part about Steve’s are the people I work with who are not only my co-workers, but my friends and we have fun while getting things done. There is never a dull moment when we are all together and we work so well together. The second-best part is making pet’s healthy. I love hearing customers success stories about how a raw diet has changed their pet’s life for the better.
