Use our feeding calculator as a starting point for your pet. Each four-legged friend will metabolize food differently based on their activity level, breed, age, etc.
Keep food frozen until ready to serve. When defrosting, place in the refrigerator overnight in an air-tight container.
Treat raw pet food with the same care as handling raw meat for your consumption. Always wash everything that comes in contact with raw meat.
Each 13.5 lb box has a bag containing 27 patties.
Each 20 lb box has two individually sealed 10lb bags, with 20 patties each (40 patties total).
Each patty weighs 8oz (½ pound)
Each 9.75 lb box contains two 4.875 lb bags
About 4oz of nuggets fit into a 1 cup measuring cup. This will vary due to the nuggets varying in size.
Yes, You can pour warm water over the food, and mix it in to warm it up Another way is while the food is still in it’s container/baggie to slightly warm up the food before serving.
No, we don’t suggest cooking the food as high heat breaks down beneficial nutrients and because the food contains bone.
Yes, a dog’s digestive system is designed to be able to handle raw chicken meat, bones, and organs. People are often concerned that raw chicken can give their pet salmonella, but FDA has enacted a zero-tolerance level for Salmonella in pet food after the Food and Safety Modernization Act went into full effect in the U.S. This means that no detectable levels of salmonella is acceptable, and every batch of raw chicken pet food we make is tested for salmonella and other bacteria before being shipped out. This rule for pet food is even stricter than for chicken you buy in the grocery store, which allows the frequency of contaminated chicken parts to 15 percent or less. Even when companies wash chicken carcasses after slaughter, the USDA has found salmonella bacteria on about a quarter of all cut-up chicken parts heading for supermarket shelves.
We offer several diets of dog food without chicken, including our pork, lamu, turkey, and beef pet foods. All diets are available in both frozen and freeze-dried.
Yes, it is possible for dogs and cats to be allergic to chicken but not Turkey. Turkey is a different protein so a pet's body that is allergic to the chicken protein may not be allergic to the turkey protein.
Chicken is one of the more common allergies, however, depending on the dog it could be an allergy to the highly processed kibble rather than the protein. We have many customers whose dogs are allergic to chicken-based dry food but do wonderfully on our raw chicken diet.
We NEVER use Chicken meal as an ingredient because meat meal is produced through a process using extreme heat and pressure that destroys enzymes, amino acids, and nutrients.

Chicken is one of our pups favorite flavors from Steve's! It's also our go-to when a pup has an upset stomach, easily digestible and gets our pups back on their feet with all of its nutritional value!
Catherine/ AikoTheExplorer –
They are easy to thaw and they don’t clump together. No smelly poops, no diarrhea and clean teeth!

I love feeding my dogs Steve’s because of the excellent ingredient panel and of course, because my dogs love it. It’s been hard to find foods that we both love, but Steve’s has been a winner in our house since the first time we tried it. The patties are so easy to portion and serve.

One of my 4 dogs is a huge fan of chicken! She goes crazy for this recipe. All 4 dogs and 4 cats seem to do really well on Steve’s chicken so it’s a regular in our protein rotation!

All my dogs LOVE Steve’s raw food! I credit their diet with keeping my senior boy young for so long and turning my not-food-motivated dog into a crazy food hound! I’ve tried other raw brands and Steve’s is clearly the favorite (for both myself and the dogs).

When I first got my mini golden doodle, I fed her a grain free dry dog food. She seemed to be pooping more than she was eating and the poops were wet and stuck to the cement. My friend recommended this food and her poops are now a third of what it was before and they are dry and hard (easy to pick up). This food is expensive we decided to do half Steve's and half of that previous dog food, and her poops are still manageable and dry. When we feed her she eats all the Steve's first then the dry food lol My dog absolutely loves Steve's Raw food!!!!
