Start with a clean, airtight container and portion your pet’s daily feeding amount into it. If feeding multiple times a day, divide the daily feeding amount by number of feedings per day.
Place the airtight container of raw food in the fridge overnight to thaw. *If you forget to thaw the food, you can add some warm water to the food or place the food in a bag submerged in warm water for a quick thaw.
Remove the thawed food from the fridge and serve it to your pet on a clean dish. Thoroughly wash your hands and sanitize all areas that come into contact with the raw food to promote a safe feeding environment.
Treat raw pet food with the same care as handling raw meat for your consumption. Always wash your hands, pet bowls, and any surfaces that come into contact with the raw food.

Yes, You can pour warm water over the food, and mix it in to warm it up Another way is while the food is still in it’s container/baggie to slightly warm up the food before serving.
No, we don’t suggest cooking the food as high heat breaks down beneficial nutrients and because the food contains bone.
The parasite that causes the most concern in pork is a roundworm called Trichinella spiralis, which can cause the disease state trichinosis. It used to be common in the United States, but that was long ago. Fortunately, infections are now quite rare in domestic pork in the US. Legislation changed many years ago, prohibiting feeding raw meat garbage to hogs. Sadly, people used to feed pigs pretty much anything they wanted to get rid of. Today, Trichinella is almost exclusively associated with eating undercooked wild game meat, specifically carnivores and omnivores, like wild boar.
Even though the risk is already very low, we take several steps to ensure our pork diets are clean and safe, starting with sourcing from high-quality family farms that raise free-range pigs fed a species-appropriate diet. Our manufacturing process includes high-pressure processing. This cold-water pressure method effectively eliminates pathogens such as harmful bacteria and parasites. Finally, we freeze the pork to temperatures well below what the CDC recommends for killing trichinella and other parasites.
Yes, dogs can eat pork. When many people think of pork, they think of greasy bacon, which is not healthy for dogs or people. However, we use muscle meat, which is very lean and packed with essential vitamins and minerals; it’s high in protein and one of the lowest percentage fat diets in our lineup. Pork is considered a novel protein, so it may be an excellent option if your dog is intolerant to poultry or beef.
Yes. The bones in our products are RAW and ground to ⅛ inch. The small pieces are bone are easily digested. While a dog’s digestive tract is designed to handle RAW bones, cooked bones should never be fed due to the potential for the bones to splinter and cause digestive upset or injury. Any bone or chew should be given only under supervision.
Pork is great for dogs, pork is a good source of protein, vitamins B6 and B12, and Iron and Zinc.
Yes, dogs can eat raw pork. We recommend using Steve’s Real Food Pork Diet, which comes frozen or freeze-dried.

Nuggets are shaped into tater-tot-sized pieces that are easy to scoop and great at defrosting quickly.
Patties are 8oz rectangles that are easy to handle and to portion without needing a measuring cup.

Love these nuggets! They really are the perfect size and shape for measuring out and feeding to both my English Bulldog and my small frenchie. They both go crazy over mealtime. I also love that there is green lipped mussels in this recipe because it’s great for my English Bulldog’s stiff joints!

Ryno’s top favorite protein from Steve’s is hands down the pork. It’s the second protein Ryno tried and the way he salivates when he sees it tells me he loves it the most. So happy Steve’s offers a pork patty cause it’s definitely the winner in Ryno’s eyes.
Jess –

Steve’s nuggets are the perfect raw food if you’re looking to incorporate raw meals with training. Almost every meal that we feed Steve’s is also a short training session. The nuggets are the perfect size and they’re high value!! My dogs are thrilled to train for Steve’s!!
Tina Adair –
I am a huge fan of their product and my side love their pork recipe. It’s the only frozen raw food we buy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the packaging. When wet first started buying this brand two years ago the patties were easy to break apart. As of the last 5 months you cannot break them apart. It’s like the patties are being packaged wet and then frozen together. No matter how hard I chisel away at the parties they are not coming loose. So more we have been having to thaw out entire bricks which takes up a lot of space in the fridge, makes a mess and becomes soggy.
LittleBitLoki –
We’ve been feeding our 3 large breed dogs Steve’s frozen pork nuggets and patties for 5 months now and it honestly is the best raw we have found! We have a 7 year old Pyr, 3-5 year old Pyr mix, and a 2 year old Bernese/Golden mix. The patties are the best for big dogs that need more food. They are perfect for enrichment bowls to full meals.
We love supporting Steve’s because of their dedication to transparency with ingredients along with supporting local farms across the U.S. We also love that they do not shame people who mix raw and kibble as feeding full raw can be difficult to afford. Steve’s is supportive of people who want to care more about their pets.
Taylor Brower –
I love feeding a variety to my dogs so finding a protein like pork available for my pups has been a game changer!!
Haskiri V –
My dogs LOVE Steves! Especially the Pork flavor! Having 3 dogs with all slightly different preferences with food, this has been the only brand that they all equally enjoy eating!

This is our favorite recipe. My girl does phenomenal on it. Between her chicken allergies and my fish allergies, this food works for both of us. She looks great on it! 5/5 stars.
